The television series “Inspector George Gently” takes place in the early 1960s just prior to the Beatles exploding onto the scene. That social shift into the swinging sixties is a focal point in the series because old school policeman Gently has to deal with increased drug use and trade, sex industry becoming more open, race issues, rebellious youth and the country changing into an alien world.
Using footage for the series, the opening sequence to the show attempts to reflect this time period with a modern approach.
